Overview:

As an Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician you will work on switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, lighting, heating and air conditioning, metering equipment, crime and fire alarm systems, and renewable energy technologies.

Entry Requirements:

Entry requirements may vary but are typically GCSE Grades 9-4 (or A*-C) in maths, English and a science subject.

What will I study?

Learners undertaking this apprenticeship will cover as minimum:

  • Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations
  • Design and Installation Practices and Procedures
  • How to plan and oversee electrical work activities
  • Terminations and Connections of Conductors
  • Inspection, Testing and Commissioning
  • Fault Diagnosis and Rectification
  • Understand the Requirements of Electrical Installations BS7671:2018
  • Electrical Scientific Principles and Technologies

What qualifications will I achieve?

On successful completion of this apprenticeship learners will achieve:

  • Apprenticeship in Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician
  • Level 2 in English and Maths (if not already achieved)
