What is Safeguarding

At Gen2 we will do all we can to help our learners feel safe so they can learn and thrive. Safeguarding about doing everything we can to help people feel safe.  Its not just about having safer recruitment procedures, it’s about having a culture of vigilance where we can act accordingly. We adhere to the statutory responsibilities in Keeping Children Safe in Education which can be found at Keeping children safe in education 2024 (publishing.service.gov.uk) You can also find out more about Safeguarding by watching this video What Is Safeguarding? - YouTube

I want to speak to someone

We understand it is difficult to open up about what may be worrying you or you may not be sure if it is an issue we can help with. We’re here to listen, however you’re feeling.

You can speak to any of our staff or one of our Safeguarding Leads confidentially. You needn’t worry about being blamed, being judged or not being taken seriously. Safeguarding our learners is one of Gen2’s biggest priorities (you can read our full policy and procedure – link below).

In the following video Olly from Years & Years discusses opening up about difficulties for the Childline campaign Tough to Talk #toughtotalk, see the video here Tough To Talk ft. Olly Alexander | Voice Box | Childline - YouTube

If you prefer to speak to someone online Childline are there to listen and can be contacted in a variety of ways. You can call, chat online or email them Get Support | Childline
