Overview:

As an Engineering Operative you will work individually or as part of a team. You will carry out engineering operations including; maintenance, operating machines, repairing and servicing and carrying out fabrication applications.

Entry Requirements:

Entry requirements may vary but are typically GCSE Grades 9-4 (or A*-C) in maths, English and a science subject.

What will I study?

Learners undertaking this apprenticeship will cover as minimum:

  • Health and Safety

  • Engineering Drawings and Specifications

  • Engineering Practices, Process and Procedures

Mechanical Manufacturing Pathway

  • Mechanical Manufacturing Techniques

  • Equipment Operating Parameters

  • Production of Individual Components

Fabrication Pathway

  • Marking Out and Preparation Techniques

  • Fabrication and Joining Techniques

  • Production of Components to Specifications

What qualifications will I achieve?

On successful completion of this apprenticeship learners will achieve:

  • Apprenticeship in Engineering Operative

  • Level 2 in English and Maths (if not already achieved)
